Here's what you can expect from a Accounting & Financial Control Manager role at BT. You would undertakes complex accounting and financial control activities , applying financial controls, processes, and systems in accordance with best practice corporate governance, and to mitigate risksResponsibilities:• Ensures the financial integrity of the business by implementing discrete, complex process and policy changes • Owns and is responsible for the preparation of key reports, analysing and summarising financial data, to comply with standards and procedures and contribute to full unit / Group reporting • Undertakes finance transformation activities and regulatory changes for the unit, ensuring new control procedures operate successfully, and in compliance with local legislative and regulatory requirements • Identifies and manages risk through regular assessment and diligent execution of controls and mitigations, proactively raising any concerns • Applies accounting principles (and where relevant financial statements), procedures and systems in complex and unique scenarios and demonstrates expertise in one or more functional areas, reviewing a team's work (where appropriate) to make sure it is complete and accurate • Partners with related teams to provide audit and control testing for the business, assessing results and recommending adjustments to strengthen the compliance against standards and minimise risks • Coaches talent, and may manage others, to develop capabilities and ensure performance • Implements continuous improvement opportunities to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of accounting, reporting and financial control processes and to resolve data issues impacting productivity and compliance • Continuously develops and shares with team knowledge on emerging trends and changes in accounting, reporting and financial control principles and practices • Considers risk, regulation and uncertainty in short-term decisions and ensures that risks are identified and managed, by establishing clear accountabilities and supporting an appropriate risk culture and control environment
