Why this job mattersThis role is responsible for providing financial, commercial and strategic analysis and advice in order to construct and shap commercial propositions and complex bids.

Winning and retaining profitable business across key Wholesale accounts on strategic deals is critical.

This role should:
  • Influence the commercial structure of bids, maximising profitability and driving financial risk mitigation
  • Positively influence win rates and directly impact BT's drive for profitable growth on the more complex deals
  • Work closely with Commercial and Product to align business case development
  • Be recognised as a trusted advisor to senior management and act as a subject matter expert for bids
  • Provide financial leadership, having the ability to influence the bid support function, quality and accuracy of bid response


What you'll be doing
  • Take accountability for discreet and/or complex bids within the Mobile Sector
  • Production of bid P&L and cash flow for complex and non-standard bids
  • Identify and quantify financial risks, a key input to the bid decision making process
  • Provide accurate completion of finance briefing for appropriate sign off having applied best practices
  • Ensure accurate completion of customer pricing schedules
  • Scenario and sensitivity modelling, assuring appropriate investment appraisal for BT
  • Manage inputs from other members of the bid team (Product, Technical, Service, Group Finance, HR etc.)
  • Identify and challenge the risks, assumptions, drivers and interdependencies
  • Problem solving to achieve business unit plans, providing expertise and insight to support bold decisions
  • Feed into the reporting/forecasting team for budgeting/forecasting purposes


The skills you'll need
  • Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent)
  • Senior stakeholder experience working with matrixed environments
  • Experience of working with commercial and operational teams to deliver bid proposals
  • Ability to interpret financials into meaningful insight, to inform decision making
  • Demonstrates an extremely high level of analytical capability
  • Understands the Telecoms Industry with good product knowledge - Desirable
