Job Responsibilities
Under broad supervision, leads, plans and/or conducts the review of financial and federal single audits of assigned organizations or programs and monitors the internal controls within the agency and subrecipient. Auditors at this level generally work in one or more specialized areas of knowledge and research question that arise in those areas. May serve as lead worker.

  • Performs job responsibilities with minimal supervision
  • Serves as job expert or organization resource in assigned areas
  • Acts as liaison for the Agency or Department by communicating effectively with assigned organizations or programs
  • Review financial reports of the agency and subrecipients to evaluate reporting meets appropriate standards
  • Examines financial and other documents for compliance with accepted accounting methods, policies, procedures, and laws
  • Inspects account books and accounting or financial computer systems for efficiency, effectiveness, and use of accepted accounting procedures to record transactions
  • May develop or maintain departmental audit policies or procedures, or review the work of outside auditors to ensure quality control
  • May supervise lower level and/or support staff
  • Prepares, analyzes, and verifies annual reports, financial statements, and other records, using accepted accounting and statistical procedures to assess financial condition and facilitate monitoring planning
  • Research data, prepares/submits final monitoring reports, issues financial settlements, responds to and resolves related issues


Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree in business administration or a related field from an accredited college or university AND One year of related experience
OR
Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field from an accredited college or university AND Two years of related experience
OR
Five years of experience in a related area OR One year of experience at the lower level Auditor/Examiner 2 (FIP031) or position equivalent.

All approved teleworking employees must reside within the state of Georgia and depending on the responsibilities of the position, must live within reasonable driving distance of the agency's primary worksite and be able to report to the office when required.
