Opportunity

EY is currently working across the capital markets globally with institutional investors, banking, private equity and insurance clients, developing strategies, designing and building innovative solutions to move forward on sustainable finance, meeting regulatory requirements and positioning for success in this rapidly evolving market.

You will join a team of over 1,400 climate change and sustainability practitioners globally, presenting a unique opportunity to provide assurance over clients’ ESG metrics and disclosures. We are seeking high performing ESG Regulatory Compliance Senior Managers to join our CCaSS team.

Topics we cover in CCaSS include:

  • Assurance over ESG/Climate metrics, Sustainability, and Impact Reporting
  • Sustainable finance and net zero strategies for financial services
  • Greenhouse gas reporting, including the Greenhouse Gas Protocol and PCAF
  • Climate change metrics and targets, including SBTi
  • Sustainable Finance regulatory developments, such as SFDR and EU Taxonomy
  • Responsible, sustainable and impact investment strategies and implementation
  • Climate change risk modeling and scenario analysis
  • Reporting and disclosure, including the application of TCFD, ISSB and other frameworks
  • Stewardship and engagement (active ownership)

Key responsibilities

  • Leading ESG and Sustainability reporting compliance and assurance engagements with appropriate consideration of risk and technical matters.
  • Understanding of complex client processes and designing and developing assurance procedures to address key risks,
  • Be at the forefront of reporting and assurance, supporting the market adhere to regulatory requirements and increasing trust and transparency.
  • Building and maintaining effective working relationships with clients.
  • You will be part of the UK leadership team and help set the vision and strategy of the UK, EMEIA and global sustainable finance practice of EY.
  • You will be a thought leader in the sustainable finance industry, representing EY at external events and maintaining client and stakeholder relationships.
  • You will create innovative commercial insights for clients, adapt methods and practices to fit operational team and cultural needs, and lead the development of EY’s thought leadership on industry-leading sustainable finance topics.
  • Working closely with colleagues at all levels (from interns to senior partners), you will create a positive learning culture and coach and counsel junior team members and help them to develop.
  • You will contribute to the development of EY capabilities in technical areas and engage with clients regarding the application of these methodologies to their businesses.
  • You will collaborate with colleagues outside of CCaSS to deliver multi-disciplinary and cross-geographical work.

Essential experience

We welcome applicants from a wide range of backgrounds, but are particularly interested in individuals that have the following qualifications:

  • Chartered Accountant / ACA / ACCA / ICAS qualified accountant (or international equivalent).
  • Track record of success from 8+ years of relevant experience in ESG Assurance/ Audit or other relevant experience, who has strong knowledge of the sustainability regulatory compliance agenda (CSRD, ESRS, TCFD, US SEC, UK TPT, SECR, ISSB etc.)
  • Experience running or contributing to a range of projects.
  • The ability to apply independent judgment during engagements and to support conclusions reached.
  • Comfort with combining both qualitative and quantitative analysis when solving problems.
  • Ability to identify and report issues and provide recommendations for improvements to clients.
  • Strong understanding of ESG as it relates to financial services (banking, wealth and asset management, insurance, and/or private equity).
  • An understanding of calculation methodologies for operational and financed emissions.
  • Strong academic record including a relevant degree, major in audit and minor in sustainability.
  • Market development and ability to identify opportunities and build client relationships.
  • Knowledge and understanding of key non-financial assurance standards such as ISAE 3000.
