We have an incredible opportunity to join us here at Phoenix Group as an Actuarial Production Manager to join our Actuarial Production team.
Who are we?
We want to be the best place that any of our 6,800 colleagues have ever worked.
We're the UK's largest long-term savings and retirement business. We offer our 12 million customers products across our market-leading brands, including Standard Life, SunLife and ReAssure, with c.£259 billion of assets under administration. We're a FTSE 100 organisation that is tackling key issues such as transitioning our portfolio to net zero by 2050, and we're not done yet.
The role
- This position is a key management role within the Actuarial Services Team overseeing the completion of MG-ALFA cloud model runs for BAU reporting and project testing, as well as other associated data processes. You will work closely with the Model Run Performance Manager and a number of stakeholders across Actuarial Review, Validation and Project teams to ensure run requirements are understood and meet the needs of the customer.
- You will work alongside and delegate tasks to a small number of specialist SMEs overseeing the running of our MG-ALFA modelling platform. Key responsibilities will include you owning the delivery of these model runs for a range of valuation reporting needs, like quarterly reporting, additional sensitivities and supporting projects where required.
- You will be required to regularly work to defined and tight timescales whilst maintaining professional standards and will need to balance business demand, issues and risks by applying sound judgement in complex scenarios, often with considerable uncertainty.
- You will have the opportunity to enhance processes and procedures to deliver effective solutions for the business. You may also be required to lead, develop, coach and mentor actuarial trainees and analysts as required.
What are we looking for?
We would like you to have knowledge of actuarial reporting concepts and key reporting metrics, with prior experience of working within a Finance or Actuarial department.
Prior experience working with MG-ALFA or similar modelling platforms is preferable but by no means essential. Prior experience of managing a team and have the ability to work collaboratively to build virtual teams to deliver challenging goals under time pressure is also advantageous.
We want to hire the whole version of you.
We are committed to ensuring that everyone feels accepted and welcome applicants from all backgrounds. If your experience looks different from what we've advertised and you believe that you can bring value to the role, we'd love to hear from you.
If you require any adjustments to the recruitment process, please let us know so we can help you to be at your best.
