Data Governance Manager
SALARY: £71,577 - £79,530
LOCATION(S): London or Edinburgh
WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites.
We're looking for a Data Governance Manager to play a key role in the management and oversight of the Group Audit & Conduct Investigations (GACI) data estate. You'll ensure our alignment to Group Data Policy and data management standards as well as working with our partners in Chief Data and Analytics Office (CDAO) to provide strategic divisional direction in areas such as data quality, metadata management, privacy and records.
About this opportunity:
You'll collaborate with data owners, and other internal stakeholders such as Data Science and Analytics teams, to shape our response to the new Group Data Culture Strategy, helping senior colleagues formulate action plans to identify and remediate data skills gaps across our existing talent while ensuring new talent are equipped with data capabilities that will help us become a true data-led Audit and Conduct Investigations function.
Supported by our security and data risk partners, you will Chair the functions monthly Data Management and Security Forum and have responsibility for providing senior stakeholders, including the Chief Operating Officer and Business Resilience and Security Officer (BRSO), a 'state of the nation' view on our data estate with a particular focus on data quality metrics, records management, including the management of our physical records estate, and data privacy compliance. You will also support the wider Platforms team in ensuring our control framework, for managing key data risk, is designed and operating effectively and have this reflected appropriately.

What you'll need:
Ideally, you'll have a subject matter expertise across a range of data management disciplines and have demonstrable experience in applying these disciplines to a dynamic and complex landscape. You'll also need…
- Practical experience across key data management concepts, such as data quality, metadata management, data privacy and records management.
- Familiarity with enterprise-grade data management applications, such as Collibra, Service Now and Ataccama
- Experience with data visualisation tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
- Understanding of data ethics would be desirable, as would any internal audit or data related risk and control experience.
- Change or project management experience would be beneficial, as role may include leading large scale data migrations and legacy data archiving.
