This is an exciting opportunity that requires a technically competent individual that is a great communicator to work within a technically specialist team. The Group Reporting and Accounting (GR&A) Team supports the technical and financial accounting of the Group, having a key role in understanding and validating Group's financials and balance sheet, as well as completing the Group's monthly consolidation and quarterly external financial reporting. The role supports the core technical and reporting output of the team, leading the internal review and validation process with focus on achieving high quality governance and reporting.

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead the Group's monthly balance sheet reporting and risk assessment process, driving accountability for balances across the business and understanding of risks and opportunities within balance sheet accounts.
  • Utilise financial reporting tools, including SAP and Oracle EPM, and automation to generate efficiencies in reporting processes and reviews.
  • Use commerciality and professional scepticism to understand and challenge financial reporting produced by subsidiaries and UK business functions, including identification and analysis of key drivers and trends. • Coordinate output from the wider GR&A team to support other finance stakeholders within the business, providing insight on accounting topics.
  • Maintain and update Group accounting policies and procedures designed to enhance reporting efficiency and governance, and support subsidiaries in their understanding and implementation of policies.
  • Lead the delivery of targeted updates to accounting policies or procedures, including drafting policy documents and delivering training.
  • Identify, collate and present performance metrics and KPIs for reporting processes and compliance against relevant Group policies, continually seeking ways to improve the quality and relevance of metrics and drive resolution of issues.
  • Liaise with Record to Report leads within TMLBSL, Business Assurance, GFS and GR&A to ensure that group policies and best practice are being following in new processes.
  • Support the Group Consolidation & Reporting Manager with the preparation of financial statement disclosures for the Group's quarterly financial statements under IFRS; including liaising with the parent company Group Reporting team and the Group's external auditor.
  • Drafting sections of quarterly financial reporting papers for presentation to the Audit Committee, Disclosure Committee and the Board.
  • Using finance experience and technical knowledge to scope out and deliver further process enhancements and digitisation opportunities.
  • Take on additional ad-hoc responsibilities where necessary, providing relevant financial accounting input, to support the GR&A team.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential
  • Experienced financial accountant
  • Proficiency for numerical analysis for accounting
  • Proficiency in use of MS office
  • Strong communication skills
Desirable
  • Experience in multinational companies
  • Understanding of Sarbanes Oxley controls environment
  • Automotive industry experience
  • Familiarity with SAP and Oracle EPM Financial Consolidation and Close
