We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Management Accountant to handle fixed assets within a renewable energy/ engineering business based in Flintshire. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and providing crucial insights to support decision-making processes related to fixed asset management. Your role will be integral to ensuring financial compliance and optimising asset utilisation.

They specialise in the development, operation, and maintenance of renewable energy projects that contribute to a cleaner and greener future. Due to growth they are seeking a skilled and experienced Management Accountant to join their team, based in Flintshire.

Description

The key responsibilities of the Management Accountant include:

  • Manage the fixed asset accounting process, including recording acquisitions, disposals, and depreciation entries.
  • Conduct regular physical audits to verify the existence and condition of fixed assets.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to track and monitor fixed asset additions, transfers, and retirements.
  • Perform financial analysis and reporting on fixed assets, including variance analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to assess the financial impact of fixed asset investments and evaluate return on investment.
  • Support the month-end and year-end close processes related to fixed assets, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and controls related to fixed asset management.
  • Working with existing team members in the preparation of accounts at month end including AP & AR management
  • Provide guidance and expertise on accounting standards, regulations, and best practices related to fixed assets.
  • Collaborate with external auditors during the audit process, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations.

Profile

The successful Management Accountant will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Studiers encouraged (e.g CIMA, ACCA) is preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Management Accountant or similar role, preferably within the renewable energy or related industries.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and standards, particularly related to fixed asset accounting.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling.
  • Experience with accounting software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of renewable energy industry regulations and compliance is a plus.
