Group Financial Accountant role for a market leading FTSE 250 Listed Business

Client Details

I am working with a market leading FTSE 250 listed business who are based in Warrington who are looking to hire a Group Financial Accountant to join their high calibre finance team. This is well known for how well they look after their employees and put them at the heart of what they do, which has created a fantastic working environment.

Description

This Group Financial Accountant role looks reports in to the Group Financial Controller and will be for the supporting the reporting of the consolidated results of the group, both externally to the group's investors and to the board. This includes

  • Execute accounting processes including period-end with initial focus on Lease Accounting (IFRS16))
  • Ensure accounting records maintained in compliance with company policy and accounting standards
  • Perform or review the reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and clearance of reconciling items
  • Produce agreed monthly reporting and make recommendations for improvement
  • Complete ad hoc analysis for the business area as required
  • Support and engage with other areas of the business and external stakeholders on accounting queries
  • Providing support to improve accounting processes and controls
  • Build and cultivate relationships with the Property Team to assist query resolutions
  • Develop in depth understanding of the operational aspect of the property portfolio
  • Taking responsibility of allocated monthly review tasks.

Profile

  • (ACA, ACCA, CIMA), which is essential
  • Proven leadership experience, with great people skills and the ability to inspire a team
  • Strong financial control background and exposure to IFRS 16 would be beneficial
  • Experience defining and delivering financial strategy
  • Strong relationship building skills with the ability to operate with senior leaders across the business, challenging and influencing where necessary
  • Strong MS Excel User
