Manager/Senior Manager - Actuarial (Life Insurance (Petaling Jaya)

We are currently seeking an experienced and versatile actuary to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting a wide range of actuarial technical and insurance-related projects. Your technical expertise, flexibility, and strong analytical skills will be essential in ensuring successful project outcomes.

Responsibilities

Actuarial Specialist for Audit and Independent Review:

• Provide specialized actuarial support in audit and independent review engagements.
• Demonstrate proficiency in life valuation and reporting practices.
• Familiarity with IFRS17-related considerations is advantageous but not mandatory.

Support IFRS17 Related Projects:

• Assist in various projects related to the implementation of IFRS17.
• While prior experience with IFRS17 is beneficial, we offer comprehensive training to quickly bring you up to speed.
• Ability to establish connections between existing practices and IFRS17 requirements is essential.

Actuarial and Insurance Subject Matter Expertise (SME) Support:

• Provide ad hoc support on diverse projects and pursuits requiring actuarial or insurance expertise.
• Examples include actuarial due diligence for mergers and acquisitions, developing models and pricing tools, delivering trainings, and participating in Insurtech/ESG-related initiatives.

Requirements

• Minimum Degree / Master’s Degree in Actuarial Science or related discipline.
• 5 - 10 years of working experience in life insurance with supervisory experience.
• A mature actuary with a proven track record of technical excellence and adaptability.
• Strong knowledge of actuarial principles, life valuation, and reporting practices.
• Familiarity with IFRS17 standards is desirable but not mandatory.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. 3
• Ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• A proactive and self-motivated professional capable of managing multiple projects concurrently.
