The role
The MG-ALFA Team is an actuarial modelling team that sits within the Actuarial Development area. The purpose of the team is to maintain and develop the actuarial model. This includes business as usual (BAU) activity as well as project activity.
The role holder will take on one of the following leadership roles reporting directly to the Modelling Development Manager, or performing model work for a leadership role holder.
These tasks will include taking ownership and leadership on small projects, breaking down complex work into manageable tasks for colleagues. Understanding how complex actuarial concepts are modelled, and providing explanations both written and verbally to all levels of stakeholders.
The main task of the role will be managing change in a fast paced environment, ensuring testing strategies and model developments remain in line with requirements and the target operating model.
What are we looking for?
You will have a solid understanding of actuarial modelling .combined with a good understanding of actuarial concepts and actuarial modelling with knowledge of at least one of the common actuarial software packages RAFM (MoSes), Prophet, MG-ALFA.
You will be able to demonstrate an ability to understand complex actuarial concepts coupled with a desire to take on a senior role within model development projects. You will also provide support to Actuarial services within the organisation on modelling queries and integration of new modelling code.
