Job title: Finance Manager (Savings & PCA A&I, Retail Finance)

Salary: £57,078 - £63,420

Locations: Halifax; Bristol; Cardiff

Hours: Full time

Working pattern: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites.

About this Opportunity:

We're looking for a finance professional (SEO) to join our Savings & PCA (Personal Current Accounts) Finance A&I (Analysis & Insights) team at what is arguably the most exciting period in over a decade.

You'll join our newly formed team that provides finance support to both Retail Savings and Personal Current Accounts, and will gain a deep understanding of those products, its business, its people, and its processes. You could be developing business plans and financial forecasts, undertaking deep dives into performance issues, influencing commercial pricing decisions, or answering other ad hoc questions. You'll interact directly with and influence finance business partners, and often colleagues in the business.

We believe that broadening and deepening our team's skills and experience benefits both us and our colleagues, and so champion the continuous development of every member of the team. Our rotation policy within the broader finance team supports the growth of new skills and building of new knowledge, so you'll have the opportunity to move into other teams and learn new skills in due course. We also have other development streams developing the skills that we'll need in the future, such as data exploitation and use of emerging technology, alongside soft skills.

We have a thriving community that operates around our hubs, and everyone has the opportunity to get involved in our People agenda. This will extend your network and give you a chance to make a genuine difference to the wider team.

We're based in a number of UK hubs and used to working in multi-location teams. As such your choice of hub really doesn't matter to us - we want to recruit the best people and don't want location to be a limiting factor.

Please note, while this advert is specifically for a certain team, strong candidates will also be considered for other vacancies within our broader Finance Centre of Excellence.

We're on an exciting journey to transform our Group and the way we're shaping finance for good. We're focusing on the future, investing in our technologies, workplaces, and colleagues to make our Group a great place for everyone. Including you.

What you'll need:

We're looking for people to join the team who love to solve problems - people who are bold, creative, and naturally curious will thrive. Taking ownership and working collaboratively are capabilities that we value highly as are commerciality and effective communication skills. You'll need a high degree of numeracy, analytical skills, and an understanding of financials. Possessing a financial qualification, or proactively working towards one, would be beneficial but isn't essential, however you'll need relevant finance experience.

And any experience of these would be really useful:

  • Finance business partnering experience, or relevant experience in a core finance function
  • High degree of numeracy and ability to understand and process complex data into a clear succinct story
  • A track record of managing senior stakeholders, including preparation and delivery of high quality analytical insight
  • Proficient in using analytical tools and systems e.g. Excel, PAX

About working for us:

Our focus is to ensure we're inclusive every day, building an organisation that reflects modern society and celebrates diversity in all its forms. We want our people to feel that they belong and can be their best, regardless of background, identity, or culture.

We were one of the first major organisations to set goals on diversity in senior roles, create a menopause health package, and a dedicated Working with Cancer initiative.

And it's why we especially welcome applications from underrepresented groups.

We're disability confident. So, if you'd like reasonable adjustments to be made to our recruitment processes, just let us know.

We also offer a wide-ranging benefits package, which includes:

  • A generous pension contribution of up to 15%

  • An annual performance related bonus
  • Share schemes including free shares
  • Benefits you can adapt to your lifestyle, such as discounted shopping
  • 30 days' holiday, with bank holidays on top
  • A range of wellbeing initiatives and generous parental leave policies

If you're excited by the thought of becoming part of our team, get in touch. We'd love to hear from you.
