Role Overview:

The Business Risk Analyst II is a developing professional role. Applies specialty area knowledge in monitoring, assessing, analyzing and/or evaluating processes and data. Identifies policy gaps and formulates policies. Interprets data and makes recommendations. Researches and interprets factual information.

The Markets business continues to enhance our Risk and Control function, specifically delivering the next phases in the development of a robust framework of Front Office booking controls including pre-trade, preventative, intraday, end of day, and detective controls; also reporting of MI to senior business management and oversight committees including Legal Entity boards.

Booking Controls focus on what is booked where, and why - ensuring adherence to business, desk and individual trader mandates, and also ensuring the integrity of legal entities in preventing material booking errors. Booking Controls also focus on how a trade is booked - ensuring Front Office bookings are accurate, timely and complete in order to proceed downstream and onwards to internal/external reporting and stakeholder groups.

Responsibilities:
  • Assisting in the Implementation and operating of our new suite of various Front Office Controls to provide effective monitoring and oversight of trading activity (eg. controls over trading books (ie. firm accounts) and compliance with legal entity booking authorities)
  • Assist in the timely reporting of risk and subsequent resolution and/or escalation of issues
  • Ongoing review of existing controls capabilities with the development and/or enhancement of tactical interim tools and input into the design of strategic monitoring solutions in line with our future vision.
  • Developing communication and similar material for presentation to a wide variety of audiences from stakeholders, peers and management. Interacting with Audit and other Control groups to report on our control environment and investigate control failures


Qualifications and skills:
  • Excellent analytical & problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interpret and analyse large volumes of data and complex information.
  • Strong verbal/written communication, including the ability to confidently present to other Citi staff.
  • Flexibility to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities. Monitor deadlines and unexpected requirement changes.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective negotiation skills, a proactive and "no surprises" approach in communicating issues and strength in sustaining independent reviews
  • Knowledge of global markets traded products including downstream processing practices and related control principles a positive.
  • Good with MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
