Role Summary

A high-profile role with the Tech Finance team, your role will be to provide insight and analysis to the Sainsburys Tech team, helping to influence and drive actions across both project and operating expenditure. You'll work collaboratively to provide support, challenge, and insight on all financial aspects of decision-making in relation to cloud accounting.

Sainsbury's Tech are bringing digital, technology and data together like never before to create amazing systems and technologies across Sainsbury's, Argos and Habitat, this role will have an impact on anything from the way we run our stores to faster deliveries and innovative contactless check-out technology.

What I need to do

• Accountable Business partner to the Customer Contact team driving cross functional engagement whilst building good working relationships with key stakeholders across Sainsbury's Tech

• Support to Finance Manager for the Discover, Decide team driving cross functional engagement whilst building good working relationships with key stakeholders across Sainsbury's Tech

• Accountable for the creation of periodic MI to SAINSBURY'S TECH stakeholders

• Supporting the forecasting and Latest View submission process, ensuring a detailed understanding of the key risks and opportunities to the P&L and Capital are presented

• Complete ad hoc reporting and analysis as required across capital projects and P&L analysis across the SAINSBURY'S TECH cost lines as directed by the SAINSBURY'S TECH Finance Manager and SAINSBURY'S TECH Senior Finance Manager

• Support creation of annual Budget, forecasts and Corporate plan

• Ensure that the end-to-end capex and opex impacts of cloud on SAINSBURY'S TECH projects are understood

• Continually challenge current methods of reporting to ensure that the best information is given to stakeholders and all reports are fit for purpose.

• Providing timely and accurate reporting across SAINSBURY'S TECH projects, providing a high standard of analysis to enhance decision making

• Provide financial analysis and insight in relation to the development of robust financial models for new & existing initiatives to support high-quality investment decisions and support Project Managers completing business case appraisals & PIR (Post Implementation Review) papers

• Management of PO transfers, receipting and manual accruals on a periodic basis

• Working closely with project managers to provide accurate forecasting across project expenditure, providing insight and challenge into the data

Who you are?

• This is one of the most forward-facing areas of the business you can partner with, with dramatic changes of pace. If you are excited by the speed and direction of technological progress, you will thrive here.

• Beyond that, you are an ambitious professionally qualified or part qualified accountant (ACCA/ACA/CIMA) with previous financial experience ideally within a complex organisation.

• You have good financial acumen (in terms of P&L management and capitalisation principles of intangible asset) and excellent analytical skills.

• You'll need to be an effective finance partner/analyst demonstrating communicating, influencing and challenging skills including audiences of varying financial and commercial acumen. You will also be s elf-motivated with the ability to prioritise and respond accurately under pressure

• Previous experience working within a Tech, IT or Digital environment is advantageous but not essential.
