Job Description

Rates Product Control are currently recruiting a VP for the EMEA Rates Product Control team in Warsaw. The role will suit someone with PC knowledge and expertise who is looking to progress their career to the next level. You will be expected to actively participate and contribute to driving key Rates and Product Control initiatives in partnership with senior Regional and Global Controllers.

Rates Product Control provides an excellent opportunity to deepen and enrich an understanding of Interest Rate derivatives trading strategies and risk management techniques via exposure to one of the highest ranked Rates trading desks. In this role you will encompass responsibilities for both PnL and Risk with significant interaction with a range of stakeholders from Front Office, Market Risk Coverage and other key control functions. In this role you will be also offered opportunities to gain exposure to a number of areas beyond PnL and Risk such as capital calculation, management and optimisation and various aspects of balance sheet and regulatory reporting.

This role is for you if you are an experienced controller who is capable of working independently on multiple different projects across the Finance and Risk space in addition to their daily BAU responsibilities. You will also need to be proactive with the ability to independently identify areas of focus or detect potential control issues before problems occur. In addition, you will also need to possess excellent project management skills with the ability to own and drive projects to completion ensuring changes are aligned to PC strategic objectives and opportunities for improvements are identified and implemented. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Management + responsibility of production, preparation and reporting of the Daily P&L and Risk and ensuring it is completed in an efficient and controlled manner
  • Partnering with the wider business to drive forth and implement robust controls and implement strategic initiatives 
  • Providing detailed analysis and commentary on the financials to desk heads, business managers, and senior finance management
  • Coordinating various front & back office support functions to ensure resolution of control and reporting issues in an accurate and timely manner
  • Identifying and Implementing continuous improvements and ensuring processes adapt to meet changing systems and evolving requirements
  • Driving key projects and initiatives related to all of the above, as well as larger cross-business programs

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Operating at a VP level within Product Control or a closely related area
  • People management experience
  • Solid understanding of Interest Rate Derivatives and an understanding of associated exotic products including accompanying risks
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail including a strong control focus
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to develop strong working relationships.
  • Educated to at least Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) level
