Job Summary
Reporting to the IT Audit Assistant Director located on the campus of The University of Alabama at Birmingham, this position can work from any UA System location: UA, UAB, or UAH. This position will assist with IT internal audit projects in accordance with internal auditing policies and standards. Under supervision, the Student Intern will have an opportunity to apply knowledge obtained from Information Technology curriculum to analyze systems, and processes and prepare written documentation of work performed. The Student Intern will also assist in utilizing data analytics and interpreting results.

Pay Rate: $15/hour

Required Minimum Qualifications
- Accounting, Management Information System, Computer Science, or Cyber Security majors at UAB, UAH, or UA
- Junior or higher standing by Summer Semester 2023
Special Knowledge and Key Competencies Preferred
- Effective verbal, non-verbal and written communication skills
- Computer skills with emphasis in Word, Excel, and Visio with the ability to learn new menu-driven software packages quickly
- Effective critical thinking and applied learning skills
- Adaptability and ability to multitask
- Team player and gets along well with others
Duties And Responsibilities
- Consistently use logical reasoning and sound analysis in evaluating information, data, and evidence to identify practical recommendations
- Utilize audit software for security audits and data analytics
- Prepare work papers that are thorough, well organized, self-explanatory, and support conclusions reached
- Consistently exhibit high standards of professional conduct
- Prioritize assigned tasks to ensure that project objectives are achieved
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and supervisor
- Abide by the Institute of Internal Auditors Code of Ethics
- Demonstrate reliable, consistent attendance
