Risk Controls Auditor

In this role you will perform independent testing of the design and operating effectiveness of controls. As part of design and operating effectiveness testing, you will identify potential control issues, document findings (when they arise), communicate action plans to control owners, manage resolution of findings, and resolve via remediation testing. You will coordinate with local process and control owners to align controls with Global policy requirements. You will provide testing workpapers to both internal and external audit teams to satisfy audit requests.

Day to Day

  • Perform independent testing to assess the design and operating effectiveness of local financial, operational, risk, compliance, and entity controls. Discuss test results with control owners and provide practical recommendations to remediate identified gaps.
  • Manage findings arising from multiple sources such as risk control framework testing, internal audit, regulatory findings etc. Follow up with owners to ensure that action plans are documented, action plan deadlines are met, and conduct follow-up testing for certain findings to ensure that action plans are adequate and implemented.
  • Provide effective challenge of risk assessments completed by risk owners.
  • Assist process owners with identifying and designing controls as mandated by Corporate.
  • Consolidate testing of controls (where applicable) to improve efficiency of testing and design walkthrough sample requests.
  • Review Global and Local company policies and ensure that controls and testing are in alignment with policy requirements.
  • Ensure all reports and spreadsheets utilized in control processes are identified and tested in compliance with the key reports and critical spreadsheets policy.
  • Act as point of contact for external Risk Assurance audit team.
  • Act as a key point of contact for both Internal Audit and External Audit teams. This includes providing sample requests, participating in control discussions, and assisting with audit requests for assigned controls and report preparation.

Essentials

  • Background and experience in Finance, Risk and/or Compliance
  • 1 to 3 years’ experience in public accounting or in an Internal Audit/controls testing role
  • Knowledge and experience in identifying and testing controls
  • Analytical and quickly able to get to the root cause of an issue
  • Ability to organize and plan all required activities in order to meet deadlines

Applicable Pay Range

$72,933.74 - $109,400.60

 This position is subject to the terms of DLL’s compensation plans and policies. It is anticipated that the position will pay within the applicable pay range. The range is reflective of the desired primary physical work location and may be adjusted outside of the projected range based on geographical differentiation if the actual work location of the hired candidate differs from the desired primary location, or for other lawful reasons. Further, the position includes all other benefits provided to DLL employees, including healthcare benefits, 401k matching, vacation, sick leave, parental leave, possible discretionary bonuses, and all other benefits that are all governed by and subject to ERISA plan documents and eligibility.
