An accountancy practice based in St. Albans undergoing ongoing positive growth is searching for a Personal Tax Senior to join their team delivering personal tax compliance services, along with increasing responsibility, client contact and involvement in tax planning/advisory work on offer as you develop within firm and role.

Description

The key responsibilities for this Personal tax Senior will be:

  • Building and managing client relationships for clients within your portfolio
  • Preparation of personal, partnership and trust tax returns using CCH
  • Collating sole trader and rental accounts in Excel
  • Collaborating with other teams to obtain tax return information
  • Reconciling tax liabilities and checking statements of account
  • Reviewing coding notices
  • Liaising with clients and dealing with their compliance queries
  • Dealing with HMRC to resolve issues as and when they arise
  • Completing capital gains tax computations and 60-day returns
  • Preparation of P11D and P11D(b) forms
  • Assisting managers with more complex tax returns and ad-hoc advisory projects

(Support and training will be provided to build on these skills.)

Profile

The Successful candidate for this Personal Tax Senior role will be/have:

  • ATT qualified or similar. Study support will be considered for the right candidate.
  • A sound experience of working in practice on a range of private client tax issues is essential.
  • Good organisational and time management skills, in order to manage the portfolio and prioritise accordingly.
  • The role involves a high level of direct contact with clients by email, telephone and face to face and
  • so you should be confident and articulate; able to build client relationships and explain tax issues in
  • a clear and non-technical manner, both verbally and in written advice.
  • Sound work ethic and excellent client service standards.
  • The ability to work well and contribute effectively within a team, as well as delivering work independently.
  • Good working knowledge of CCH would be an advantage.
