Technical Financial Reporting Senior Accountant

We're currently recruiting for a Senior Accountant to join our Technical & Oversight Team within Financial Reporting.

We have an incredible opportunity to join us in Finance as a Senior Accountant in our Technical & Oversight Team within Financial Reporting to provide professional accountancy and regulatory advice across all business processes to ensure the organisation meets its regulatory, reputational and commercial requirements

Key Responsibilities
- Help lead the provision of technical accounting and regulatory reporting support across the team, department and business to contribute to a compliant end to end financial reporting process.
- Help build the knowledge of IFRS 17 within the BAU Financial Reporting Team.
- Monitor the technical accounting and regulatory reporting environment for impacts on Phoenix Life's financial reporting.
- Help lead the management of technical issues across the department, liaising with key internal and external stakeholders to a timely and satisfactory conclusion.
- Oversee the production of high-quality papers providing sound analysis and recommendations fit for all levels of stakeholder/governance.
- Lead the production of quality departmental updates to Boards on behalf of Life Finance by co-ordinating the relevant inputs, managing suppliers and managing the review process.
- Co-ordinate the relevant inputs, managing suppliers and ensuring compliance with appropriate regulations to oversee the Solvency II narrative reports:
- Lead or make a significant contribution to the technical accounting needs of business change projects and external developments such as new products and the impact of IFRS 17 on the Life entities.
- Maintain own professional development and that of team members to a high standard and be a lead in providing support to the wider team in the continuous development of technical skills.

What We're Looking For
Essential
Qualified Accountant
A proven track record of producing sound technical accounting analysis.
Able to communicate confidently, asserting influence at all levels and across functions and able to present information requests and financial data in an easily understandable manner.
Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines.

Desirable
Experience of Life Company Accounting and Reporting.
Experience of Solvency II Reporting.
Experience of IFRS 17.
