Description

Key responsibilities for this R&D Client Manager based in Milton Keynes:

Client work:

  • Build and develop working relationships with clients, accountants and HMRC to ensure claims are optimised and deadlines are met
  • Alongside your technical counterpart, you will gather information from clients on all aspects of their R&D which you believe to be eligible under the UK R&D scheme
  • Ensure R&D claims meet the requirements of relevant tax legislation and the Guidelines
  • Assemble R&D expenditure calculations, finalise the claim report to include the claim methodology, and complete any additional tax and financial requirements, in a timely manner
  • Review claim reports, R&D expenditure calculations and tax submissions for other team members

Communication:

  • Deal with client and external accountant phone calls and correspondence

Teamwork:

  • Collaborate with the R&D Technical Specialists and R&D Business Development Managers to obtain responses to client questions
  • Support R&D Business Development Managers in the sales and marketing activity including attending events and prospect meetings when required

Technology:

  • Utilise the software tools available to provide an outstanding service to your client portfolio
  • Ensure your personal software certificates are achieved within agreed timescales and are kept up to date

Other skills:

  • Ensure you are up to date with internal R&D training
  • Manage multiple timelines, deadlines and queries
  • Develop your understanding of additional services & referrals that Ad Valorem has to offer, notify the sales team of any potential opportunities
  • Communicate effectively and appropriately in any given situation

Profile

The successful candidate for the R&D Client Manager based in Milton Keynes will be/have:

  • Accountancy/tax qualified e.g. ACA/ACCA/CTA/ATT
  • Minimum 3 years as an R&D tax practitioner with experience leading, project managing, and preparing claims (with a focus on the financial side of claims)
  • Team player; with the ability to develop and inspire others
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and excellent attention to detail
