This role is responsible for supporting the Digital Division to deliver their strategic and financial plan, being a finance business partner for commercial decision making and investment cases. The job holder will provide support and challenge, working cross-functionally with business stakeholders, to deliver financial targets for our digital channels. The job holder will represent the Digital Division across the business where interdependencies exist and will understand the commercial and operational drivers of end-to-end financial performance. They will be responsible for business partnering both non finance and finance colleagues to provide analysis and insight into financial performance and scenario modelling across the P&L, focused on value creation.

What you need to do

• Supporting the Digital Division in the delivery of their strategic and financial plans

• Help scope, establish and embed financial processes and reporting for our Ecommerce/Digital channels

• Act as Finance Business Partner for the Digital Division, interpreting management reporting to provide financial insight, analysis and constructive challenge to stakeholders

• End-to-end financial analysis to support the Digital Division in the refinement and development of the Digital proposition, working in close collaboration with other core divisions including Trading, Marketing, Retail, Technology, Supply Chain & Logistics and others, together with their financial counterparts.

• Build business cases for investment opportunities or propositional changes, and support the navigation of financial governance where necessary (capex and opex)

• Working with stakeholders, within Digital and other Divisions, to ensure a robust, accurate and realistic forward projection is produced, including Corporate Plan, Budget and Latest Views. Responsible for ensuring alignment of sales, margin and cost projections with other divisions and their finance teams.

• Identify risks and opportunities, and take the lead in prioritising these working with the business to manage them.

• Attend regular department meetings ensuring Finance has a 'voice' and a 'seat at the table' where P&L impact meets department initiatives.

• Contribute towards materials prepared by the Digital Division, ensuring financial information and messaging is fair and accurate.

• Build an independent external perspective and use outputs to engage and influence the business

• Work with ADA as required to complete analysis to resolve business problems

• Stepping up to cover the Head of Finance for Ecommerce where needed.

• Supporting several ad hoc projects and various teams as required

• Success in this role will mean being able to deliver timely, robust and accurate analysis; translating data into valuable business insight, communicating all relevant financial and non-financial information to enhance performance across sales, operating profit and customer satisfaction.

What you need to know and show

• Professionally Qualified Accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA)

• Strong commercial acumen with a focus on driving excellent financial and commercial performance

• Effective communicator, influencer and challenger with senior stakeholders, including audiences of varying financial and commercial acumen

• Strong Excel and numerical skills, with an aptitude for turning data into analysis and insight

• Experience of maintaining strong financial controls

• High levels of pace, energy and resilience

• A self-starter, and a strong team player that can work independently, spotting the areas to focus on and assisting in the decision-making process

• A proven track record of financial control, but also the ability to develop and maintain such an environment

• Must have a strong eye for detail and a passion for accuracy

• Comfortable working with ambiguity and a bility to present complex information in a simplified manner

• Proven history of effective prioritisation and ability to push back when appropriate
