Position Summary:

Bio-Techne is seeking an IT Business Analyst to sit in their Centennial, CO or Minneapolis, MN office. The incumbent in this role will be an integrated scrum team member in an agile environment, responsible for upholding and ensuring Business Analysis standards. This IT Business Analyst will be responsible with understanding current systems technical abilities, and direction, allowing them to have tactful and constructive conversations with key business stakeholders and department employees. They will write user stories that map back to requirements gather from key IT employees, and business stakeholders. Ensuring solutions identified map back to the business "what" and "why". Partner with one or more portfolios across the delivery and initiative horizons with a focus on the delivery horizon, support portfolio prioritization, and build/maintain relationships with key stakeholders and the Dev team. Understands existing systems (including current pain points) for their portfolio(s), and document process flows to uncover and clarify business requirements. Designs and implements regular project specific BA metric reporting where possible and as needed. Understands the overall company vision and can relate this vision to specific business and system requirement details.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyzes and defines user requirements and translates them into clear and concise system requirements. Effectively communicates requirements and acceptance criteria to the development team during project discovery through implementation.
  • Articulates, champions, enforces and follows defined processes on assigned project teams
  • Contributes feedback to assist leadership in evolving best practices as opportunities and challenges are presented.
  • Identify opportunities to improve or develop processes and provide clarity around IT work by building, creating, and/or maintaining department specific process maps
  • Develop training documentation and provide training to end users.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders. Serve as a bridge between stakeholders and IT.
  • Assists in defining, generating, refining, and socializing metrics & analytics.
  • Recognize, understand, and translate software and engineering needs/perspectives to the Business Stakeholders
  • Technical documentation of department platforms, workflows, and systems information with appropriate support and guidance from Development teams
  • Department ServiceNow dashboard creation & management
  • Support training of Stakeholders for Product enhancements
  • Performs work in a way that is consistent with Bio-Techne's EPIC values.
  • Understands the overall company vision and can relate this vision to specific business and system requirement details.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Education and Experience:
  • Position requires a bachelor's degree with a minimum of 1 - 5 years of related experience or equivalent experience.
  • Prefer experience working as a member of an IT team to support software development, web or data systems.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and have good communication skills both verbally and in writing.
  • Must be able to clearly document ideas in non-technical terms and demonstrate these ideas to upper management.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • IIBA-AAC
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow including ITBM
  • Familiarity with LIMS & Electronic Lab Notebooks
  • Knowledge of Chemistry/Biology, experience with laboratory science
  • Experience with Analytics and Data Storytelling
  • Knowledge of requirements elicitation, documentation, and writing functional requirements.
  • Skills in problem solving and analysis. Capable of identifying and evaluating a course of action, recommending solutions, and pivoting quickly as appropriate.
  • Skillful interpersonal and intercultural communicator across multiple mediums including oral, written, and virtually. Comfort working virtually with individuals across the globe.
  • Assists in defining, generating, refining, and socializing metrics & analytics.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies including Scrum and Agile Analysis.
  • Ability to work cooperatively individually and within a group.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across disciplines.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and respond to multiple work tasks and deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and have demonstrated the ability to work cooperatively with end users.
  • Ability to work hours that conform to standard business operations (8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.)
  • Ability to work on evenings and weekends if needed.
