Our partner is a human rights organisation. They are seeking an experienced senior finance professional to review their processes, controls and systems, provide financial oversight and to work on the training and development of all finance staff.

Responsibilities

• Assessing existing tools, systems, and processes related to day-to-day and month-end accounting functions.
• Identifying, prioritizing, and implementing key process improvements to strengthen financial controls and reduce financial risk.
• Proactively identify opportunities to strengthen financial management, planning, and analysis processes and tools and work with the finance team and senior leadership to implement improvements.
• Advise on the structure of the finance team, including roles and responsibilities
• Training and coaching members of the finance team to take on additional responsibilities as identified in the restructure.
• Coaching members of the senior leadership team.
• Providing oversight of the finance function.

Requirements

• Qualified, experienced accountant with knowledge/experience of leading the finance function of a not for profit organization.
• Experience in change management / restructure, and experience of identifying what a finance function looks like and the role/responsibilities of individual members of the team.
• Experience of training, coaching and staff development.
• Strong technical accounting, financial management and strategic advisory skills/experience.
• Strong analysis and IT skills (advanced MSExcel).
• Experience of working with grants funding, compliance and reporting.
• Fluent in English, knowledge of Arabic is desirable

This is a year long contract, with an immediate start preferred. The organization offers hybrid work arrangements, with the individual based out of Cairo for 3 months initially and then a combination of remote/in-person work.
