We are looking for an Audit Supervisor/Manager to join our client's team. Reporting directly to the Audit Partner, Audit Supervisor/Manager will be managing their client portfolio responsible for all stages of the audit, advising on solutions to significant issues and on the audit opinion, as well as monitoring progress, managing project budgets and work-in-process, and invoicing.

 

ABOUT OUR CLIENT

Our client is a full-service certified public accounting practice specializing in tax, audit and financial planning services and is located in Birkirkara.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Managing their client portfolio responsible for all stages of the audit, reporting directly to the audit partner, advising on solutions to significant issues and on the audit opinion, as well as monitoring progress, managing project budgets and work-in-process, and invoicing.
  • Planning and leading the audit, responsible for the overall risk assessment and audit strategy development, collaborating with other specialised departments (such as tax, IT and valuation specialists), and liaising with component auditors for their involvement in the audit.
  • Supervising and coaching audit seniors and juniors, reviewing their work and providing feedback, including advising on their professional career development within the firm.
  • Performing all project management aspects of the audit assignment including agreeing audit timelines, team briefings, supervision, delivery of audit work ensuring their clients are properly serviced and work is completed in a timely manner.
  • Keeping up to date with the accounting and auditing developments, anticipating impact on their clients and advising solutions.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with new and established clients, identifying opportunities and being a point of contact for their clients.

REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS

  • Must have at least 4 years' experience in a similar position.
  • Knowledge of CaseWare is considered an asset.
  • Prior experience on consolidations is considered an asset.
  • Forming part of an audit team the selected candidate  must have effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must be independent, proactive, flexible and committed.
  • Proficient in English (and ideally Maltese) both written and spoken.
  • Must have computer literacy in MS Office.

EDUCATION

Must possess or be in the final stages of achieving a qualification in accounting (ACCA or University Degree).

SALARY AND BENEFITS

  • €35K+ p.a.
  • Flexibility in starting time, from 08:00 till 09:00, 40 hours per week with 30 minutes break to be taken at your pace.
  • Performance bonus in June (mid-year).
  • Performance Appraisal in Dec/Jan.
  • CPE hours plus Memberships paid.
  • Sponsor ACCA, first sitting of any exam plus lectures will be paid by the client with 3 days study leave.
