About SCCT

This role is working for the Suez Canal Container Terminal S. A. E. (SCCT), an Egyptian company, the container terminal operator in Port Said East Port. 55% of the shares are held by A. P. Møller, Maersk, 20% by COSCO Pacific and 25% by various Egyptian parties.

The role has 5 direct reports, plays a critical role in providing strategic, business and finance business partnering and functional leadership in SCCT and a senior finance leadership within the Hubs region (covering Malaysia, Oman, Egypt, the Netherlands, Spain and Morocco).

Hubs Finance drive financial excellence and improvements at APMT and within APMM's Ocean Segment.

Key responsibilities of the role
  • Be the Business Partner of the Managing Director (MD) and part of the Senior Management Team (SMT) of our SCCT terminal in Egypt; Strategically lead, drive, oversee and manage all aspects of the SCCT Finance organization, including, Finance, Risk Management, including internal controls, and other relevant corporate functions.
  • Be a principal member of SCCT's SMT, safeguarding financial discipline and adherence to financial targets.
  • Support and be part of the Steering Committee overseeing the important expansion of the terminal ensuring strict governance, financial and project reporting, financial discipline and funding requirements are met at all times.
  • Ensure Group and company policies and guidelines, adopted by SCCT's Board of Directors, are strictly adhered to.
  • Initiate, adapt and execute functional and corporate business plans and contribute to the development of functional and corporate strategies.
  • Promote and develop a Lean Problem-Solving culture in finance to support a value adding environment in the terminal.
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining a safe and inclusive work environment within the team by guide and support the team members.
  • Besides being the leader of the Finance professionals at the terminal this role will also lead the Procurement & Legal function within the terminal.
  • Has a safety mindset.
  • Provide valuable financial insights, data and analysis to support decision-making to senior managers within SCCT as well as to majority and minority shareholders (including process management of investment/business case approvals).
  • Validate financial impact of business decisions including, accounting impact, cash flow impact, credit worthiness of customers, profitability, financial risk and tax exposure
  • Develop and ensure implementation of efficient and effective financial, legal, compliance, policies and systems.
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial and operational data flow and sign off monthly internal reporting to shareholders.
  • Oversee funding requirements, develop funding strategies and leading external funding process on behalf of the company.
  • Accountable for statutory reporting requirements (including external audit requirements) and tax compliance.
  • Lead and guide on capital expenditure projects and business cases developed and presented to the Group and Board of Directors for approval and ensure project governance in place to ensure execution of approved investment business cases.


We're looking for
  • Post graduate studies in Accountancy or Finance.
  • 15+ years of experience in Finance roles.
  • Proven people leader, including experience in developing Talent.
  • Extensive knowledge of setting of budgets, reporting, inventory control systems and accounting.
  • Strategic mindset, ability and experience in driving strategic initiatives.
  • Able to provide vision and empowers others to take action by effectively delegating.
  • Establish and maintain strong internal and/or external stakeholder management skills at all levels
  • Adopt and display high level of integrity
  • Advantage to have an understanding of the container shipping industry and an ability to relate with shipping company and other associated industry managers.
