Management Accountant (Operations)

Business partner to the Operations managers across the sites you are responsible for, to enable them to understand financial performance of the site and highlighting opportunities for areas of improvement.

A successful organisation with continued plans for expansion are now looking for a Management Accountant within the Operations division for their site in Medway, Kent.

Description

• Be responsible for accurate and timely weekly financial analysis and reporting including commentaries to drive action.
• Complete daily financial analysis to enable the operational teams to be proactive in mitigating financial losses.
• Control and monitor overhead spend on a monthly basis identifying any potential risks or opportunities against budgeted spend.
• Complete monthly accruals to ensure costs are reflected in the correct month within the accounts.
• Complete monthly financial analysis including commentaries both on performance and variances to budget.
• Complete packaging stock audits across all sites and ensure any obsolete stock is written off the system.
• Complete any relevant balance sheet reconciliations in an accurate and timely manner.
• Support site teams and operations finance manager to identify and evaluate capex opportunities and complete submissions and reviews of capex if implemented.
• Ensure system housekeeping is being carried out in a timely manner.
• Ensure accurate job standard costing's are maintained in the standard costing and these costing's are communicated to the commercial teams.
• Ownership of labour tracks within the system, to ensure packing costs are kept both realistic for the operational teams and lowest possible cost for the commercial teams.
• Production of a monthly financial forecast of operational costs feeding inputs into the relevant teams.
• Ownership of the planning exercise, and annual site plan.

Profile

• Part Qualified / Finalist Accountant (CIMA/ACA/ACCA) QBE Considered with relevant sector experience.
• Excellent Microsoft Excel skills
• Ability to challenge and drive performance
• Ability to communicate with all levels of the business
• Strong communication skills to both financial and non financial teams
• Excellent Microsoft Excel skills
