Job Summary

PSEG is seeking an intern within the Financial Planning & Analysis team to start in summer 2023 on a full time basis and work into the semester on a part time basis.

The intern will join PSEG's Financial Planning and Analysis group. This team has many responsibilities including providing timely, accurate and relevant financial and operating information to leadership, department leaders and other clients to enable strategic decision-making. We are also continuously improving and maintaining the financial systems to ensure they are up-to-date reflecting changes throughout the company. This candidate will also have the opportunity to learn SAP or other technology platforms associated with this function.

This position will be Hybrid - mostly remote and in-person (Subject to change based on safety/CDC guideline)

Job Responsibilities

The intern's duties will include but not be limited to:
  • Complete financial analyses providing timely, accurate and relevant financial information
  • Assist with improving and maintaining various internal systems.
  • Perform/support/document business planning, reporting and analysis activities
  • Ensure integrity and completeness of financial information. Present financial information with supporting analysis.
  • Identify, develop and document continuous process improvement opportunities.
  • Perform ad-hoc projects in support of financial reporting systems.
  • Develop and/or enhance various models in MS-Excel or other platforms


Job Specific Qualifications

Required Education/Skills : The successful candidate (s) must be actively pursuing a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in Accounting, Finance, Business or a quantitative related major. All candidates must have completed sophomore year prior to the start of the summer internship program.

Basic understanding of Accounting Principles
Financial acumen
Intermediate or higher Microsoft Excel skills

Preferred Skills:

Knowledge of databases and desktop database tools such as Microsoft Power BI

All PSEG internship roles are paid at an hourly rate, however there are no benefits associated with these positions. We are targeting: Currently enrolled/matriculating students and able to commute to the assigned work location as needed. Housing, transportation, immigration Support will not be provided in association with these positions.
