Overview
To support our growing business we are recruiting a non-executive director who has the skills, experience, delivery track record and innovation we require to help lead us through our next phase of growth.
You will be expected to bring an external, independent perspective to the Board, assist with strategy, help develop the business and ensure that the risks are suitably managed and opportunities to enhance our existing offer and develop new areas of the business are explored and brought to fruition.

Experience of working at Board or Executive -1 level or equivalent in a comparable complex, changing system or organisation and leading organisation change and service transformation

Time Commitment
The Board currently meets quarterly with the management team, this is either on site at Energus or via Teams. The NED is expected to be available for ad-hoc advice to the Board & or Management team on an as-needs basis.
Period of Appointment
The appointment will initially be for one year, with the option of renewing at the end of this period, Should the Management team and Board agree.

Conflicts of interest and commercial confidentiality
The NED appointment is made on the basis of trust, a key component of which is to ensure that there are no conflicts of interest between this appointment and posts held elsewhere. All material provided to the NED by the company should be treated as commercially sensitive, and not disclosed to third parties without the written permission of the Energus Board.

- Financial management and business development
- Experience of skills development and delivery in the nuclear and/or related sectors
- Experience of building successful strategic relationships and partnerships with a complex group of stakeholders
- Knowledge of the strategic opportunities and challenges facing the nuclear and related sectors
- Experience of developing new services, innovations and/or contracts.
- Understanding of the components of a complex organisation and the processes of planning, financial control, performance management and assurance that deliver its objectives.
- Sound knowledge of and commitment to corporate governance and risk management
- Understanding of the legal duties, liabilities and responsibilities of Non-Executive Directors
- Commitment to equality and diversity, social value and sustainability
Responsibilities
As a non-executive director you will:
- support the chair, Board and management team in promoting Energus' values;
- support a positive culture across the organisation and adopt behaviours in the boardroom and elsewhere that exemplify the Energus' culture;
- constructively challenge the proposed decisions of the board and ensure that appropriate challenge is made in all circumstances;
- help develop proposals on priorities;
- help develop proposals on risk mitigation;
- help develop proposals on values and standards;
- contribute to the development of strategy
- scrutinise the performance of the management in meeting agreed goals and objectives;
- satisfy yourself as to the integrity of financial and other management/performance information;
- management and governance are sound and that they are used as necessary;
- ensure that you receive adequate information in the form that they specify and to monitor the reporting of performance
