We have an exciting opportunity available for a Director, Financial Planning & Analysis & Treasury to join Rolls-Royce & Partners Finance Limited (RRPF) a joint venture company between Rolls-Royce PLC and GATX Corporation comprising of 19 joint venture entities in the UK, 18 entities in the US, 2 in Malaysia, and 1 in China.

RRPF is one the largest spare engine lessors in the world, leasing civil aircraft engines to airlines around the world. In 2015, RRPF also started an engine parts business which has grown significantly. Despite the challenges of COVID-19, we have aspiring plans to continue to grow this business and are well placed to do so. The Finance team manages the business planning, accounting, reporting and tax for all the entities. It is also responsible for the communication of financial performance to its shareholders. Joining RRPF, you will be part of a dynamic and fast-moving finance team, within a very agile business, whose primary goals are to ensure and improve financial and management reporting, to ensure all compliance obligations are met and to be effective and trusted business partners to the wider business team. This is a wholistic role covering various aspects of finance and you will be instrumental in shaping and implementing RRPF's vision for a best-in-class and high performing Finance Team. What you will be doing:

Reporting to RRPF's Finance Director and along with the Director, Financial Reporting & Tax, you will support and ensure the Finance team on a day to day basis and provide input into and implement the Strategies and Vision to create a best-in-class and high-performing Finance Team, operating in a just-environment. You will hold relevant business processes and will ensure they are appropriate and relevant by continually improving and updating those as necessary.
  • FP&A, Forecast & Budgeting -develop, devise and improve current FP&A processes culminating in robust and repeatable monthly management reporting packs of sufficient quality and information which can be disseminated internally and to the Board. Ensure the JV's bottom-up mid-year forecast and 5-year budget process, while continually looking for ways to improve the process.
  • Business Partnering -work together with marketing and parts trading teams to ensure any transactions comply to accounting, tax, export coordinate and regulatory policies and rules, assist with assessing customer's credit risks and, where appropriate, be a trusted internal advisory and provide alternative point of view and inquires as necessary.
  • Treasury& Cash management - Ensure all payments relating borrowings are made in accordance to agreed schedules. Monitor results and forecasts to ensure borrowing covenants are complied with. Assist the Finance Director in identifying liquidity and funding requirements to fulfil strategic goals and work together with the senior management team to identify and secure funding from existing and new sources.
  • Financial Reporting -ensure the month end close and be responsible for timely and accurate production of monthly guidance accounts in both IFRS and US GAAP and monthly reporting deliverables to shareholders. Create, update and document accounting policies after considering impacts in FRS102, US GAAP and IFRS.
  • Group and Statutory reporting -ensure the process from audit to group reporting to sign-off (for US entities) and to submission of financial statements to Companies House and local regulatory bodies. Ensure the preparation and submission of disclosures under S-X Rule 3-09. Prepare or update accounting position papers and prepare disclosures as required due to new and emerging accounting standards.
  • Stakeholder Management -support the Finance Director on monthly Board Meetings and ensuring Board Packs are produced timely for circulation to Directors. Ensure good relationship maintained with shareholders and to address ad hoc queries and information requests as appropriate.
  • Accounts payable -ensure that suppliers are paid timely and to continually improve order-to-pay cycle processes.
  • Risk & Compliance-take care of of the company's risk register alongside Director -Financial Reporting & Tax and identify key business risks and with risk owners develop strategies to mitigate those risks. Ensure that the JV complies with shareholders' governance frame works. Work with paralegal team to ensure that obligations and reporting in respect of insurance are fulfilled.
  • Systems & Continuous Improvement -support the team by example in terms of continuous improvements projects no matter how small or transformative. Work with Operations/IT teams update business process by harnessing automation and new systems which can improve finance team's efficiency.
  • Tax-Support the tax management framework and operating model, and to ensure the JV is compliant on all aspects of tax per the JV's and shareholders' tax strategies and policies.
  • Team management -support, nurture and develop a growing Finance team comprising of finance managers, management accountants, finance assistants and tax manager. Take part of creating the curriculum and presenting them at team and JV-wide training sessions..
  • Other -deputise and support the Finance Director as necessary.
  • As Director, FP&A & Treasury, naturally there will be more focus on responsibilities more pertinent to your role but you will be expected to be able to cover Director, Financial Reporting & Tax where necessary.

  • Qualified accountant (ACCA, CA or ACA) with significant post-qualification experience in industry/commerce.
  • Experience in dealing with guiding audits and dealing with audit queries.
  • Excellent technical accounting skills Able to identify and communicate key risks when business partnering and to able to tailor advice and support and to mitigate those risks accordingly.
  • Excellent Excel, Powerpoint and other MS Office skills. Demonstrable excellent financial modelling skills will be a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills, commercially astute, can-do attitude and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written skills and able to distil accurately the "story behind the numbers". Experience work large datasets and data analytics will be a plus.
  • Excellent teamworking, communication skills, commercially astute, can-do attitude and attention to detail.
  • Leasing industry experience and/or interest in aviation and the airline industry also a plus.
