Financial Accountant – Stock Operations

Purpose of role: Perform and drive improvements in stock reconciliations

Location: Dublin Head Office

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • Preparation of reconciliations for a number of critical accounts such as goods in transit, duty, freight, return to vendor and reprocessing
  • Develop a strong relationship with the stock accounting and tech teams, actively addressing issues as they arise
  • Work closely with the stock accounting and project teams to ensure suitable reconciliations are in place for strategic projects such as Click & Collect and Stock Valuation Transition to Weighted Average Cost (WAC)
  • Develop efficient stock count reconciliation processes for store and depot counts
  • Review and challenge of reconciliation processes to identify opportunities to improve the controls environment and drive efficiencies through automation or revised processes. Stock reconciliations are a key business area for improvement/automation and are an area of focus for Senior Finance Stakeholders
  • Significant cross-functional working across Finance (Stock Accounting, Finance Transformation, Finance Projects), technology and other areas of the business
  • Any other tasks and ad hoc projects as required by management

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • Accounting qualification (ACA or ACCA essential)
  • 3 years post qualification experience preferred
  • Reconciliations experience essential with stock reconciliations experience preferred
  • Retail industry experience preferred
  • A strong understanding of key controls, accounting issues, systems and policies applicable to a large international organisation
  • Good general IFRS knowledge
  • Strong computer literacy
  • High energy and enthusiasm
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Team player able to work with multiple teams throughout finance and the business
  • Strong relationship builder
  • Able to work in a flexible manner to meet changing priorities
  • English is essential, other European language(s) would be an advantage
