As a division of Knowles Corporation, Knowles Precision Devices (KPD) focuses on production of a wide variety of highly engineered Capacitors and Microwave to Millimeter Wave components for use in critical applications in military, medical, aerospace, industrial, electric vehicle, and 5G market segments. Overview: This position is a key member of the Knowles Precision Devices finance team, responsible for provision of financial information and analysis to meet corporate reporting deadlines and support management decision making and liaising closely with plant controller. The successful candidate will have excellent technical accounting skills and the ability to organize financial data and present clear, concise, management level analyses. The ability to assimilate and manipulate large amounts of data is essential as are strong analytical, IT and communication skills.

Reporting Structure: This position reports to the Director of Finance.

Location: This position is based out of the Cazenovia, NY facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monthly closing procedures; Review Journal Entries and Balance Sheet Reconciliations; Maintaining the General Ledger, completing journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Analyze & verify data detailing assets, liabilities, capital and prepares balance sheet, profit and loss statement and other reports to summarize current and projected company financial procedures.
  • Support Quarterly Business Reviews: Support Controller in the preparation and presentation of a detailed review of product specific performance.
  • Complete variance explanations for monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
  • Support Quarterly Forecasts planning and presentations.
  • Support Controller for auditing activity, including compliance with corporate and Sarbanes Oxley regulations.
  • Product cost analysis and review and the development of costing processes
  • Consolidating, reporting and investigating factory and divisional overhead costs using activity-based costing techniques
  • Supporting product development and engineering teams through the provision of cost analysis.


Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • BA/BS degree in Accounting or Finance. MBA, CPA a plus
  • 5-7 years of progressive accounting/financial analysis experience in a manufacturing environment. Standard costing experience is preferred.
  • Experience with ERP system (Oracle), and HFM/Essbase consolidation/reporting systems and experience in a cross-functional environment
  • Manufacturing cost accounting system experience is preferred.
  • Sarbanes Oxley experience is preferred.
  • Strong analytic and communication capabilities with ability to present information in ways that is relevant to the audience.
  • Ability to identify problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions in order to make recommendations.
  • Have a Continuous Improvement mindset to establish, modify, document and coordinate implementation of accounting and accounting controls

Knowles is committed to providing a competitive and fair total compensation package for all employees.

One element in our total compensation package is base pay. The starting base pay for this role is targeted to be between $80,000 to $100,000.

Individual compensation decisions are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to previous experience and skills acquired prior to joining Knowles, cost of living in the assigned work location, assigned schedule, and salaries of similarly situated peers at the company. It is to be expected that candidates will come to us with different sets of skills and experiences and therefore will be paid at different points in the stated range.
