The purpose of the Tax Accountant Role is to continue provision of first rate service and expertise across the current Individual and Small Business tax offering and assist the team in growing the business. The purpose of the Tax Accountant Role is to continue provision of first rate service and expertise across the current Individual and Small Business tax offering and assist the team in growing the business. You will work closely with the Tax Team Leader, and have customer, broader Moneywise team and FCTG contact.
In this role you will:
- Provide of tax advice to the team's client base
- Prepare and review Business Activity Statements and Instalments
- Support the team in administrative and client management functions
- Prepare tax returns for Individuals, sole traders & a small business client base
- Have daily client and team contact by phone and email, maintaining excellent service and relationship levels
- Build knowledge of relevant legislation, systems and processes with the aim of improving overall client experience
- Build and maintain effective relationships with the tax and broader Moneywise team and key stakeholders across FCTG
- Maintain accurate and compliant client files and reporting data in Handisoft, our tax software system and ATO submission platforms
- Competence in the Access Handisoft platform
- Great verbal and written communication skills
- A passion for customer and business outcomes
- An engaging customer service and team collaboration mindset
- Attention to detail, excellent time management and a real pride in delivery
- A relevant finance undergraduate degree with progress towards CPA/CA preferred
- Initiative and high motivation enabling an independent and remote working environment
- Sound understanding of Australian Taxation legislation, laws and regulations and Codes of Practice
- Up to 2 years' experience in preparation of individual tax returns with exposure to SME and sole trader returns preferred
- Salary on offer- $60k Base Plus Super
- A flexible work environment, working from home and FCTG office for 2 days per week minimum for team, customer and stakeholder engagement. This role is based in Brisbane, in FCTG's Grey Street, Southbank Global HQ premises.
