About the role:

Join our dynamic SSAMESA management team and global finance leadership team in the exciting transformation of the FLSmidth. As the Head of Finance for the SSAMESA region, you will play a crucial role in driving change and shaping the future of our organization.

This leadership position will provide an opportunity to be part of the management team, take on a leadership role, and drive transformation in the vibrant mining industry that contributes to the sustainability of the world.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Lead and drive simplification efforts in the region by strategically outsourcing transactional accounting to our Financial Shared Services Center (FSSC), optimizing the regional footprint, finalizing the MT integration, and continuously seeking opportunities for improvement.
  • Assume a leadership role within both the regional management team and the Mining Finance leadership team, actively contributing to strategic decision-making and providing valuable insights and guidance.
  • Actively coach and develop your team, fostering a world-class business partnering organization that consistently delivers exceptional results and drives value for the company.
  • Conduct thorough financial deep dives, enhancing transparency and developing robust models for business steering and strategy support for the Regional management team.
  • Champion cross-functional and ad-hoc projects, analyses, and tasks with a clear focus on driving strategic improvement initiatives. This includes generating insights, optimizing contracts and service level agreements (SLAs), streamlining service order handling and execution, upselling on existing projects, optimizing pricing, and ensuring optimal staff utilization.
  • Provide comprehensive support to regional presidents, enabling their decision-making processes and helping them achieve strategic objectives that directly impact sales and service commercial results.
  • Standardize and govern the monthly and quarterly management reporting on regional performance, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timely delivery of financial updates and business insights.
  • Take a leading role in driving the monthly business reviews, from gathering input to creating compelling presentations that provide accurate financial updates and forward-looking analyses.
  • Collaborate closely with the Service Business Line to support monthly business controlling activities and assist Group Finance,
  • Compliance & Tax with month-end related questions, offering insights into financial and business drivers.
  • Act as a key driver in the development and/or implementation of tools for data management, analysis, and reporting/dashboards, facilitating effective decision-making and providing real-time visibility into key financial and operational metrics.
  • Play an integral role in the rolling forecast and budget processes within the region, ensuring alignment with the broader Finance, Mining team and driving accuracy, efficiency, and strategic alignment throughout the process.

  • -Experience with business intelligence systems is an advantage.

  • Educational background: You hold a master's degree in finance, economics, MBA, or an equivalent field, providing you with a strong foundation in financial principles and strategic thinking.
