This role is a 6 month contract for a great and growing not for profit organisation to cover sick leave.

Description
The Asset Accountant will:
- Lead the Financial records, management and systems of the organisations designated areas ensuring all accounts are in line with compliance and accountancy standards while driving efficiency and effectiveness.
- Ensure and manage accurate and timely data and the delivery of all regulatory returns and financial accounts.
- Manage the budgeting in line with adequate and accurate controls for audit.
- Effectively liaise with strategic partners and key stakeholders working closely with managers for planning, monitoring and forecasting budgets.
- Produce accurate data within a timely manner, enabling key stake holders in successful decision making while ensuring report are inclusive of accurate financial forecast and analysis alongside commentary.
- Ensure the Fixed Asset Register reconciliations are inclusive of core analysis along with resolutions as and when required on monthly basis. In addition, regularly review these accordingly.
- Finalise the management accounts on a monthly basis management relative to tangible/intangible assets inclusive of financial controls relative to asset accounting which is in accordance to the organisations policies and procedures.
- Ensure the relative models are up to date and accurate within a timely manner, allowing informed strategic decisions for the stakeholders.
- Ensure accurate VAT returns and and deal with ad-hoc queries.
- Observe processes and procedures while promoting and assisting improvements and maximising efficiency's.
- Work alongside colleagues within finance ensuring effective financial services.
Profile
The successful asset accountant will be:
- Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or QBE
- Strong knowledge of accounting practice inclusive of working month end/year end protocols and procedures.
- Experience and use of relative accounting standards.
- An ability to identify and react to emerging issues.
- Experience within financial accounting and presenting data.
- Ability to interpret complex financial information from systems and spreadsheets
- Ability to perform complex reconciliations
- Experience within the development of systems to optimise usage and increase deficiencies.
- Experience in assisting and delivering projects to tight deadlines.
- The ability to analyse financial issues and interpret information.
- Ability to plan, organise and prioritise workload to tight deadlines.
