Our clients have identified a number of potential offshore/onshore wind and onshore solar projects in Vietnam for development, construction, and operation.

Asia Pacific is the region targeted for almost one-third of this investment, with Vietnam being a targeted new market. Asia Pacific is the region with EUR 20 billion now under management and the world's largest greenfield renewable fund just formed. A variety of energy infrastructure assets, including offshore wind, onshore wind, power transmission, biomass and waste to energy, solar PV, and Power-to-X, are included in ours client current investments.

Description

The ideal candidate are responsible for Project Controller who will take ownership and accountability for the management and oversight of a project throughout its lifecycle, taking an active role in all aspects of the process. In addition, this role will support the various stakeholders in ensuring the project stays on track with regards to both budgets and timeline.

This role will also serve as a liaison to coordinate the schedules and tasks of numerous internal teams, and to gather insight, approvals, and other contributions from stakeholders .This role will start to cover our overall projects on a required basis, but may become more focused on a specific project depending on the project developments.

Therefore, this role will include but not limited to:

  • Be the main liaison party for the projects and work closely with internal stakeholders (Project director, Finance, Treasury, Tax, Legal, government relations, Commercial, Development and technical teams) and external parties such as network companies, vendors, and other stakeholders.
  • You will provide comprehensive support to various stakeholders in ensuring the project stays on track with regards to both budgetsandtimelines with following key responsibilities:
    • Development of work and strategic plans for respective projects.
    • Support project sponsors and project governance ensuring set protocols are adhered.
    • Project cost controlling, budgeting, financial monitoring, and reporting.
    • Establishment or maintenance of project WBS and rolling forecasts.
    • Project timeline management.
    • Debt covenant compliance monitoring and reporting.
    • Contract management.
    • Procurement.
    • Vendor management.
    • Performance monitoring reporting.
    • Support internal and external audits.
    • Ad-hoc project reporting.
    • Ad-hoc support tasks.
  • You will develop, apply, and maintain business & project controls features in all aspect of the project responsibilities.
  • You will coordinate regular project meetings with the various stakeholders discuss project progress, milestone achievements, identify deviations, set follow-up action points including post meeting minutes/notes.
  • Work closely with the project team and regional team to ensure knowledge sharing of project cash needs, project distributions, project mandate and project expenditure tracking.
  • Where required, assist and support entity establishment/dissolutions plus tax and regulatory registrations/appointments per the intended structure approved by working closely with the advisors and providing KYC and required documentation/information.
  • Where required, assist and support banking related tasks needs such as opening of new bank accounts, KYC reviews, bank instructions, etc.
  • Support ad hoc requests for financial information and analysis as required by finance director or other departments.

Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Management, or other relevant fields. Other relevant educational qualification with the right work experience will also be considered.
  • 5 -6 years of experience in project controlling, operational financial and controlling function in a dynamic and fast paced multinational environment is essential.
  • Strong project management skills (PMI certification or equivalent a plus)
  • Experience in the infrastructure/renewable sector is an added advantage.
  • Motivated by building best practices, solving complex issues, and growing the finance function.
  • Ability to prioritize assignments and manage short deadlines.
  • Team player with excellent stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to analyse and interpret data and inputs and able communicate effectively with stakeholders.
