Finance Assistant

This is an exciting opportunity for a Finance Assistant to join an established business in Harwell, nr Didcot on a temporary basis of 6 months.

Description

The Finance Assistant will:

• Be responsible for journal preparation & processing
• Assist with balance sheet accounts reconciliation, prepayments and accruals, lease commitments, KETO hours reconciliation and data validation
• Assist with Quarterly VAT returns
• Support with Project related reporting
• Reconcile bank account daily within the finance system
• Assist in updating the cash flow statement
• Ensure debtors are settled within agreed payment terms
• Set up supplier accounts and maintain contracts
• Raise purchase orders
• Ensure that all purchase and sales invoices are processed/raised accurately and timely
• Assist with contract and financial year reconciliations
• Process cash expenses
• Process and reconcile credit card expenses

Profile

The Finance Assistant will be/have:

• Immediately available or available on short notice
Finance background with good finance and administrative skills
• Sound financial and office management skills are required along with the ability to communicate well with people at a variety of different levels
• Highly numerate and analytical
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• High levels of IT literacy overall and familiar with Excel.
• Self-motivated and strong team player
• Positive 'can do' attitude with flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment with seasonal pressure points
