Head of Finance responsible of all financial aspects, including end-to-end financial planning and analysis, budgeting, auditing, and managing the school's operating budget to ensure all financial targets are fulfilled and all financial and statutory regulations are followed.

Description

  • You will be responsible for providing complete end-to-end support to the principal on all topics connected to strategic planning and financial data analysis in order to provide insight and enable successful decision making for the school.
  • Develop the School's financial strategy in collaboration with the Principal, Chair of Finance and Audit Committee, and other stakeholders, by evaluating investments and conducting feasibility studies to inform the school's five-year plan.
  • Monitor and manage the school's internal financial controls and administration to ensure that all financial operations are legal and that financial accounts are presented accurately and on time.
  • Create and maintain the essential processes to ensure the school's effective and efficient financial administration. This includes, but is not limited to, customising and implementing new finance and accounting software.
  • Liaise with the building's other shareholder and their finance team, as well as the shared Facilities Manager, on all financial aspects of the building, and generate monthly invoices for their building cost recharge.
  • Review the School's financial regulations on a regular basis, as well as design and implement the essential policies and processes to maintain solid financial management and control.
  • Prepare for and participate in meetings of the School's Finance and Audit Committees, as well as audit planning/closing meetings, to advise key stakeholders of financial status updates as needed.
  • Monitor actual vs anticipated income and spending, as well as re-forecasting the school's annual financial performance against budget, in collaboration with the principal.
  • Collect and coordinate the annual budget with multiple departments and be able to present complex facts clearly and simply.

Profile

  • Fully qualified ACCA, CIMA, or similar qualification required.
  • Understanding of how non-profit organisations are structured.
  • Proven professional experience as the Head of Finance in the education sector.
