Senior Actuarial Technician

Role: Senior Actuarial Technician

Job Type: 6 month Fixed Term Contract

Salary and benefits: £45,000 - £55,000 base plus up to 16% bonus, 38 days holiday and 10% pension contribution

The role

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a keen interest in finance to be challenged in the fast paced and highly visible arena of the Life Division MI. The role would be a perfect fit for someone who has decided to cease the actuarial exams but still enjoys working in an actuarial environment, and has a keen interest in finance.
Your responsibilities will include collating impacts from the wider business for use in MI as well as validating impacts against governance papers in addition to running and checking Excel models. You will also produce MI packs for use in governance together with responsibility for identifying continuous improvement opportunities.
You will work closely with qualified actuaries, trainees and other finance professionals to ensure timely and accurate production of the MI. This will involve running and analysing output from actuarial models, and producing draft MI packs together with commentary.

What are we looking for?

You will be a part-qualified actuary or someone with equivalent experience currently working in an actuarial environment. Knowledge of Solvency II reporting would be an advantage.

You will be able to demonstrate strong communication skills with examples of how you have engaged with colleagues in understanding their requirements and also by communicating the outcomes. You will also need to demonstrate that you are a strong team player with the willingness to work with the team to meet tight deadlines. You will have a proven ability to challenge the status quo, and demonstrate how you have been responsible for devising innovative ways of making improvements to processes.
