The Downstream& Trading Reporting & Analysis Organization is a team of >1,000 colleagues providing accurate, timely and insightful analysis to deliver more and cleaner energy solutions.
Within this organization, Financial Accounting and Controlling (FAC) Krakow is a cluster of teams responsible for end to end Group and Statutory financial reporting activities in Europe & South Africa region. The role of FAC Analyst is to ensure that accounting and reporting activities are performed in an accurate timely and efficient manner. He or she will be responsible for a mix of closing activities and financial analysis which includes verifying financial data, making appropriate adjustments (in line with the Standard Global Processes, Shell accounting guidelines and Local Statutory); and provide financial analysis and standard reports to facilitate & support business decision.This position will report to R&A FAC Senior Manager.
What is the Role?
  • R&A FAC Analyst is accountable for assigned process activities (General Leger, Group Reporting, Management Information, Fixed Assets, Statutory and others) in a timely and accurate manner.
Responsibilities include:
  • Preparation of Group or/and Statutory Financial Statements (together with collection of LSR deliverables and Supplementary info for entities in scope)
  • Preparation of supporting analysis, country packs, statistical reporting, review meetings
  • Focal point for group projects and IFRS changes impacting entities in scope & lead for technical changes in system and interface to process experts
  • Ensure operational and design effectiveness of the controls within the area of responsibility.
  • Analyze key accounts in Balance Sheet (Blackline) to ensure balances are appropriately reconciled and properly supported Initiate and lead process improvements, overseen by OE Lead
  • Manage effectively interfaces with FO and non FO stakeholders, build end to end perspective
  • Maintain knowledge resource on country specifics and business landscape
  • Degree in Finance/Accounting or Professional Qualifications coupled with working experience in accounting, reporting and financial controls.
  • Good knowledge of financial accounting requirements (IFRS standards).
  • Good analytical skills, systems and process, with the ability to recognize underlying issues and develop appropriate resolution so Proficient in Microsoft applications especially Excel.
  • Experience in handling end to end audit/local statutory reporting is an added advantage. o Able to work independently & prioritize o
  • Able to identify ESSA opportunities and manage change.o
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skill so Resilient and able to deliver under pressure.
