Job Description

The Quality Assurance function forms part of the Controls team. If you have got  broad experience of working in a regulatory reporting, policy or consultancy function we encourage you to apply for this role.

Job Responsibilities

  • Work independently on 2-4 month projects to perform a quality assurance review on a particular capital calculation and any related disclosures
  • Identify relevant regulatory guidance and form their own interpretation of compliance, including challenging internal policy where necessary
  • Review business requirements for compliance against relevant regulation
  • Perform substantive testing of those requirements to ensure implementation is correct by building independent calculations; review of existing framework, including manual adjustments and processes and procedures
  • Focus on control environment and monitoring / driving process efficiency, including challenge of operating model
  • Test data quality and population control where possible and providing impact estimates of any issues identified
  • Writing and presenting detailed reports of findings to senior management, including background into the requirements and recommendations on resolution 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Familiarity with large parts of the regulatory rules (CRR/CRR2) and reporting requirements (COREP)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office – Excel, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint
  • Degree qualification and either accountancy qualification or qualification by experience within Financial Services industry
  • Good understanding of investment banking products including derivatives / financing transactions; knowledge of banking products (deposits, loans, credit facilities)
  • Self motivated and ability to work independently; focused on execution skills and the ability to deliver results even through challenges
  • Ability to communicate effectively and build relationships across teams
  • Ability to critically review and challenge numbers / strong analytical skills; flexibility to work under pressure to meet changing work requirements
