Senior Staff Accountant

They are currently seeking an experienced Sr. Staff Accountant to join their team. This on-site role in Tempe, Arizona offers unrivaled growth potential and the opportunity to evolve alongside their rapidly expanding organization. Salary up to $90K DOE.
The ideal candidate will possess 5+ years of accounting experience and demonstrate the ability to contribute to an established accounting department, driving continued growth and profitability.

Job Role:

The Sr. Staff Accountant's responsibilities span all accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts receivable and payable, inventory, fixed assets, financial and compliance reporting, and various financial analyses. You will ensure the timely and accurate recording and reporting of accounting transactions for their residential solar business.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Generate timely and accurate customer invoices
• Process customer payments, refunds, and adjustments
• Reconcile accounts receivable ledger with general ledger
• Track and manage Cost of Goods Sold (COGS)
• Work with Finance Company Partners to manage open receivables and credits
• Assist with monthly closing procedures and GAAP financial statements
• Review of monthly sales reports under accrual accounting methods
• Manage and process payroll
• Oversee the Accounts Payable Team
• Reconcile multiple bank statements and credit cards to the General Ledger
• Monitor and review accounting and related system reports
• Contribute to the enhancement of procedures and practices
• Research and resolve account discrepancies and non-compliance issues
• Apply accounting best practices in all tasks
• Perform other duties as required or assigned

Skills & Qualifications:

• 5+ years of Accounting experience working with the general ledger
• 2-3 years of QuickBooks experience (preferably QuickBooks Online)
• Proficiency in Excel and Google Workspace
• Working knowledge of General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Familiarity with Federal and mixed State tax laws/regulations
• Experience working with Cost of Goods Sold (COGS)
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong financial analysis skills
• Solid organization and planning skills
• Construction or solar industry experience is a plus
• Understanding of Job Costing is a plus
• ADP Payroll experience is a plus

Education and Experience:

• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting is preferred
• 5+ years experience in a similar role
• CPA Certification is a big plus
