Michael Page is delighted to be partnering with a fast growth well-funded technology/engineering business to recruit a newly created Commercial Finance Business Partner.
Description
Reporting to the Head of Finance, the Finance Business Partner will take ownership and drive improvements to monthly FP&A reporting and the budgeting/forecasting processes. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious qualified accountant to shape the finance function. Driving change to improve the efficiency of our processes whilst ensuring financial controls remain robust in a changing environment.
You will:
- Develop the FP&A capability within the finance team; develop month-end departmental performance reports with commentary against budget/forecasts.
- Become a trusted business partner for the senior leadership team; providing challenges on spend assumptions whilst suggesting solutions for any potential issues as they arise.
- Lead the annual budget and quarterly forecasting process; agreeing the format of the detailed budget submissions with the Head of Finance and CFO in advance and ensuring processes are completed within the agreed deadlines.
- Support the implementation of a new ERP system; working with the Head of Finance to implement this during H2 2023.
- Be comfortable communicating with people across the business and of different levels of seniority; promoting and representing the Finance team across the organisation.
- Support on other ad-hoc finance projects
Profile
- Qualified Accountant (ACA,ACCA,CIMA)
- Experience of working in a high-growth company; with an ability to manage change
- Previous experience in manufacturing/engineering is desirable
- Proven ability to develop high-quality financial reporting for management.
- Strong IT skills, including a high degree of Microsoft Excel competence
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A 'can-do' attitude, with an ability to prioritise work to meet deadlines
- Previous experience of Sage 50 / Compleat desirable but not essential
