Role: FP&A Commercial Analyst

Purpose of role: 
Working in the FP&A team, this role will support with financial modelling and planning used for executive decision making around key strategic projects. The successful candidate will be skilled in scenario analysis and play a key role in generating insight for the finance leadership and commercial teams.

Reports to: FP&A Senior Manager

Key Responsibilities:
  • As an analyst in a fast-paced, expanding retail business you will be a valuable member of the FP&A Team
  • Build and manage financial models for key strategic projects
  • Support with presentation material for the finance leadership team and group parent company.
  • Provide in-depth analysis on business performance, working closely with the FP&A manager to emphasise the implications of the numbers and suggested actions
  • Support in the development of the operating and financial plan for key projects
  • Work closely with your team to support and examine operating performance, helping to advise on management decisions
  • Ability to work across various stakeholders within the business and bring knowledge from various sources to support with the insights
  • Work collaboratively across different finance teams, particularly the finance business performance team
  • Ad-hoc analysis as required by the business
Essential knowledge, skills and capabilities:
  • Ability to build relationships and engage with a number of business stakeholders
  • Storytelling and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strategic and commercial mindset when interpreting data and recommending actions
  • Financial and analytical acumen with the ability to interrogate data and come to sound, logical recommendations & conclusions
  • Planning and organisation skills, ability to plan and prioritise work schedule and work within agreed timescales
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and pro-actively
Successful candidates will meet the following criteria (Experience):
  • Bachelor’s degree +
  • Accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent)
  • Previous FP&A or Business Partnering experience in a fast paced environment. Retail/FMCG an advantage
  • Strong work ethic with a passion for financial analysis and reporting
  • Very comfortable dealing with data, and summarising the insights in well-presented charts and tables
  • Proven ability in developing effective working relationships with both finance and non-finance colleagues
