We are searching for a Manager, Financial Analysis.

The Manager, Financial Analysis is responsible for managing a Corporate Management Reporting, Planning and Analysis team. This role is also accountable for the performance management process and staffing for the unit, as well as participating in developing the annual profit plan, monthly forecast and reporting and analyzing the monthly results.

The key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Leads and manages the corporate financial analysis unit, which includes a small team.
  • Conducts the performance management process, identifies training and development needs, and establishes performance standards for the unit. The position is responsible for managing the annual profit plan, monthly forecasting process and monthly analysis and reporting of actuals results.
  • Determines staffing needs, makes hiring and firing decisions, handles salary administration, and ensures resources are available to accomplish priorities.
  • Participates in developing the strategic plan and sets goals and priorities based on the direction set for the unit. Follows through to ensure objectives are met.
  • Provides leadership and guidance to staff, fostering an environment which encourages employee participation, teamwork, and communication.
  • Analyzes the financial impact of specific financial strategies and presents results to senior management.
  • Provides oral and written communication of corporate strategy including financial performance.
  • Communicates regularly to senior management, business unit financial officers, and regulators on the corporation’s financial position and performance.

Qualifications – External

The successful candidate will benefit from having:

  • 10+ years proven and related work experience in a similar field
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field, MBA preferred
  • Financial Services experience is a plus

Knowledge and Skills

  • Knowledge of advanced accounting and finance usually obtained through an advance degree or related work experience is required to direct the corporate financial analysis function.
  • Knowledge of personal computer skills are necessary to analyze and prepare financial spread sheets.
  • Leadership and organizational skills are required to determine the unit goals, resources needed, and to assess and develop the skills of the staff.
