We are looking for an Accounting Analyst to join our team in Chicago or Austin offices. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the day to day accounting function. You will work closely with our back office team  to automate and optimize our operational workflow. The ideal candidate will have great communication skills, a high level of attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast paced multi-tasking environment.

Key Qualifications

  • Team oriented, able to work across teams and functions
  • Good customer service skills
  • BS in Accounting or Finance
  • 4+ years of experience in Finance or Accounting
  • ACCA/CPA preferred
  • Proficient in Excel, Access, SQL and a major accounting software package (Advent Geneva and Microsoft Dynamics experience a plus)

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Trading revenue management
    • Manage daily trading revenue accounting process including broker P&L reconciliation and posting to general ledger
    • Partner with technology to automate processes to drive efficiency
  • Accounts payable/accounts receivable
    • Manage firm’s accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
    • Assure timeliness of payment to vendors and payment receipt from asset management counterparties
    • Support tax compliance such as state and local use tax filings
    • Improve efficiency of function through process redesign and deployment of technology
  • Month end close
    • Prepare monthly closing journal entries and account reconciliations to assure accuracy of account balances
    • Assist with month end cost allocations and management reporting
    • Assist in process design to achieve a continuous close
    • Improve efficiency of function through process redesign and deployment of technology
    • Support execution of firm’s annual audit
  • Payroll
    • Manage daily additions and changes to payroll system
    • Process semi-monthly payroll and annual bonus payment process
    • Improve efficiency of function through process redesign and deployment of technology
