A hugely exciting opportunity to lead the end to end finance at a global entity generating c.£2 billion turnover per annum, 85% of which derives from inter-company activity.

Client Details

A multinational, global entity who are one of the market leading compnanies in their sector. A listed retail/FMCG business generating c.£2 billion turnover per annum, 85% of which derives from inter-company activity.

Description

  • Oversight of the annual statutory accounts reporting processes to ensure the consolidated report and accounts are submitted in accordance with required deadlines and regulations.
  • Oversight of the external audit relationship, ensuring all auditor requirements are complied with in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Ensuring the service provided by the company's outsourced VAT compliance team remains an effective and efficient approach to managing the reporting and submission requirements across company's multiple (seven) VAT registrations.
  • Oversight of the processes supporting the calculations of the margin attributable to brand owner entities to ensure a transparent and robust approach which stands up to scrutiny from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Oversight of day to day order to cash, source to pay and reporting processes - supporting and providing an escalation point as required for the two accounting Team Leaders.
  • Overall control of monthly reporting process performed by the retained finance and IBM teams ensuring on time and accurate reporting to Group Finance.
  • Provision of periodic cash and working capital forecasts.
  • Oversight of finished goods inventory positions to ensure all excess and obsolescence risks are identified and provided.
  • Provide insightful data, information and guidance to Global Supply Chain colleagues to assist in new developments and reporting requirements.
  • Ensuring all above activities are supported by a robust internal controls environment and the company complies with all Group requirements in terms of controls reporting and testing.
  • Oversee the performance of the retained finance team and manage and review objectives and development plans accordingly.

Profile

  • Experience in a dynamic, fast moving, multi-function/multi location/multi-currency operation
  • Continuous improvement mindset which is not accepting of sub-standard operational, IS and finance processes
  • Accomplished and effective communicator with finance and non-finance stakeholders
  • Experience of international transfer pricing frameworks and appropriate execution embedded into the company's financial transactions and reporting outputs
  • Experienced in an IFRS reporting framework and experience in additional reporting for local GAAP purposes, in this case German GAAP
  • Solid understanding of global VAT principles to ensure the business remains compliant across its multiple EU VAT registrations
  • Disciplined accounting and internal controls approach to ensure finance postings and configurations are efficient, effective and transparent
  • Effective people manager in terms of ensuring all department deliverables are on track

Job Offer

A basic salary of c.£80k-90k
