Our Transaction Tax team is currently hiring!
We are currently looking to recruit a Senior Manager to join our Transaction Tax team within the Dublin office working across a diverse range of clients and industry sectors.

EY’s transaction tax team is a market leader in the space providing market leading, relevant and highly-targeted solutions to clients in respect of all tax aspects associated with mergers & acquisitions.
We work with large corporates and private equity investors, delivering value through our transactional expertise and our dedication to finding the solution that best fits our clients’ needs. You will have the opportunity to gain an understanding of the commercial operations of companies in a wide range of business sectors and the tax treatment associated with the operations across all tax heads.
Your key responsibilities
The main duties and responsibilities include the following:
- Leading tax due diligence work streams for clients across all tax heads,
- Supporting clients with both pre and post-acquisition structuring,
- Working closely with our colleagues in broader Mergers and Acquisitions roles to deliver a comprehensive service offering and value to our clients,
- Liaising with clients and their legal advisors to achieve the desired commercial outcome in a tax efficient manner while also managing tax risk through the contractual process,
- Review of financial models from an Irish tax perspective to assist our clients in evaluating the commercial opportunities available from a proposed investment,
- Leading the provision of tax advice to clients on a range of advisory projects.
Skills and attributes for success
- Technical Knowledge - Demonstrate a strong understanding of Irish and international tax technical concepts and a keen ambition to develop this knowledge further,
- Commercial Awareness – Ability to develop practical/business driven solutions to challenges facing clients,
- Business Development - Develop and maintain relationships with clients and professional networks in order to identify growth opportunities for the firm,
- Team Building - Enthusiastic and effective team leader and player - ability to create, build and sustain effective relationships at all levels,
- Communication Skills - Excellent communicator, both written and oral,
- Flexibility - Change orientated and innovative with flexible approach to ways of working and adoption of new technologies,
- Project Management Skills – ability to plan and prioritise work in order to meet client deadlines.
To qualify for the role you must:
- Be a qualified CTA and/or ACCA, ACA or Solicitor;
- Have 3 years' plus post qualified experience in practice;
- Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to understand complicated tax matters.
Ideally, you’ll also have
- Strong technical skills across all tax heads;
- Experience working with transactions would be beneficial but not required.
