Job Description

The Business Architecture Core Capabilities team is responsible for the delivery of applications and tools that enable data management, controls, data modelling and aggregation, analytics, and reporting.

As Product owner, your primary responsibility will be working on the build out and modernization of applications and services utilized for both internal and external reporting that align to critical firm-wide initiatives. You will participate in projects, design features of existing corporate reporting platforms and provide support for various initiatives. In this role you will be responsible for end-to-end features and functions delivery following the Release Life-Cycle. You will partner with key business and technology partners to identify and analyse business/operational requirements, oversee technology build, coordinate user testing and solution implementation.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage the end-to-end Software Development lifecycle from requirements gathering to grooming to develop to testing and deployment
  • Interpret Corporate consumers data requirements and create business requirements in the form of user stories to enhance the data, reporting automation, and digital analytics toolsets
  • Engage with development teams to ensure business needs are translated into appropriate technical specifications, and acceptance criteria is met
  • Prioritize the backlog of user stories for delivery, based on alignment to the schedule deployment plan
  • Work with lines of business to understand their products, how data is captured, and how to strategically source data into a cloud based big data architecture
  • In partnership with Implementation leads, Release managers, Project managers and other data Subject Matter Experts understand various Lines of Business and asset class data and source system flows and complexities as it relates to the Finance and Risk applications and infrastructure

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Bachelors' degree and at least 5 years of overall work experience in financial services and/or regulatory reporting
  • Experience in design of IT system features and functions
  • Experience in planning, coordinating, and delivering results across multiple teams and interdependencies
  • Experience with understanding and testing large quantities of data across multiple products
  • Overall strong desktop skills with particular emphasis in Microsoft Excel & Visio
  • Familiarity with Agile development like Jira and Confluence
  • Knowledge of data tools such as Alteryx, Tableau, SQL/other databases will be a benefit

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Experience in Agile delivery and the JIRA tool is a plus
  • Knowledge and experience of traditional credit (Loans, Deposits, Cash) and trading products (Derivatives and Securities)
  • Experience in planning, coordinating, and delivering results across multiple teams and interdependencies
  • Proficient organizational and problem-solving skills
