Financial Accountant

The successful candidate will work together with the Financial Controller in setting up the accounting system and establishing the finance team for the newly acquired business unit. Some tasks include handling full sets of accounts, preparing financial statements, doing reconciliations, reviewing budget and forecasts, and developing paperwork for reporting to management.

The company has recently acquired a food trading business and is preparing to launch this new venture in the coming months.

Description

• Oversee the general ledger, which includes maintaining chart of accounts and posting journal entries
• Conduct month-end closing activities and ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
• Prepare and review tax reports to ensure compliance with local tax regulations
• Lead the annual statutory audit process and ensure timely submission of compliance requirements
• Ensure compliance with laws and regulations and maintain the integrity of financial data
• Contribute to budgeting and forecasting activities
• Assist in implementing new work flows and systems with a focus on continuous improvement
• Other ad-hoc duties

Profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting / Finance or equivalent
• Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience in financial accounting and general ledger duties
• Familiarity with import/export trade and handling of banking formalities
• Candidates with knowledge of supply chain operational management in trade, warehousing, shipping, and logistics are strongly encouraged to apply
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Self-motivated and able to think critically
