Job Description

Position Summary:

Responsible for providing leadership and coordination of financial planning activities to ensure effective, efficient, and accurate financial and administrative operations.

This role is expected to be a Finance Business Partner for Sites in KBI.

Responsible for preparing, updating, and coordinating Budgets, Forecasts, Analysis and review of data with respective members of the Leadership team.

The right candidate will have the ability to analyze the key drivers of the business model, including economics of new spend decisions and other ad hoc projects. This is an excellent opportunity to make significant contributions to the success of our rapidly growing company.

Position Description:

Preparation and analysis of consolidated reporting at site level on actuals, budget, forecast, and prior fiscal year. Analyzes actual operating results and identifies key financial and operating issues to be addressed; quantifies actual results versus forecast.

Coordinate financial planning, consolidate departmental budgets and forecast preparations and assist Operational management in achieving their financial and budgetary goals including:
  • detailed support and analysis of the company's revenue forecast and departmental budgets.
  • development of presentations to help summarize budget results in a comprehensive and easy-to-understand format.

Working in conjunction with management personnel, develop company budgets and forecasts and reporting of actual performance compared to forecast.

Responsible for managing the creation, execution and refinement of financial and operational metrics and analysis at site level. Develop and deliver daily/weekly/monthly reporting of metrics.
  • Manage the preparation of financial outlooks and financial forecasts.
  • Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget.
  • Recommend benchmarks for measuring the financial and operating performance of divisions and departments.
  • Prepare financial analysis for contract negotiations and Capital investment decisions.
  • Prepare financial and analytical materials to be presented to senior management when required

Capital Expenditure (CapEx)
  • Manage the submission and financial evaluation of CapEx project submission from across the business
  • Prepare annual plan for CapEx after vetting proposals with Leadership Team members to ensure that the most attractive investments get prioritized correctly
  • Monitor spending against approved projects on a periodic basis and advise Management should spending rise above anticipated levels
  • Evaluate the impact of new investments and prepare post-audit analysis of variances from expectations


Update and review monthly revenue forecasts with project managers and department leaders.

Support financial and Internal audits and provide recommendations for procedural improvements.

Assist in administration of company-based financial systems (e.g. SAP)

Participate in global FP&A initiatives as required.

Position Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's preferred; Finance or Accounting concentrations preferred.
  • Minimum of 6+ years of progressive managerial responsibility in Finance, FP&A, and/or Plant Finance.; Life Science / Biotech industry preferred.
  • Advanced Excel skills required.
  • Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains or large ERP systems experience required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections. Working knowledge of budgeting and forecasting, rolling budgets, and product-line profitability analysis.


Salary Range: $90,000 -$110,000

Salary range provided per current averages and expectations. The salary and job title for this opening will be based on the selected candidate's qualifications and experience and may be outside this range.
